Terms of Service

Welcome to Burn ("we", "our", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the Burn application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

Burn is a bookmark consumption app that helps users read and manage saved content. Bookmarks are given a 24-hour countdown — read them, save them to your Vault, or let them turn to ash.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Burn. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

3. User Accounts

You may use Burn without an account (local-only mode). To sync bookmarks across devices, you can sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

You may delete your account at any time through Settings → Delete Account in the App. Account deletion is permanent and will immediately remove all associated data from our servers, including bookmarks, sparks, vault items, subscription records, and usage data. This action cannot be undone.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Free Plan: Save up to 3 bookmarks per day with full AI analysis on each bookmark.
Burn Pro: Save up to 10 bookmarks per day, access cross-bookmark AI intelligence, rescue bookmarks from ashes, and more.
Billing: Burn Pro is available as a monthly auto-renewable subscription at $4.99/month. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
Auto-Renewal: Your subscription automatically renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
Managing Subscriptions: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions.
Price Changes: Prices may vary by region and are subject to change. You will be notified of any price changes before they take effect.
Refunds: All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be directed to Apple through their standard refund process.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Interfere with the App's servers or infrastructure
Use automated methods to access the App
Share content that infringes on others' intellectual property rights

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, features, and content, is owned by Burn and protected by intellectual property laws. Your bookmarks and personal data remain yours.

7. AI-Generated Content

Burn uses AI to analyze and summarize bookmarked content. AI-generated summaries, insights, and recommendations are provided for informational purposes only. We do not guarantee their accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose.

8. Content and Data

Burn processes URLs and content you save. We extract and analyze content to provide summaries and insights. Your data handling is governed by our Privacy Policy.

9. Third-Party Content

Burn helps you access and read content from third-party websites. We do not own, control, or endorse any third-party content. Your use of third-party content is subject to those sites' own terms.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content analysis will be accurate.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Burn shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be communicated through the App.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall be resolved through friendly negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to the competent People's Court at the location of the developer.
